Artificial ecosystem & Food Web

A artificial ecosystem, is something that can't sustain without help from  man. For example a farm has multiple animals various in different ways a pig and cow can eat the grass but most of farms they get fed a different way.A artificial

If your in a more technological city, then you see probably more artificial ecosystems, then a place with not much technology like a city in Africa or Asia.                                                                                             The climate in an artificial ecosystem can be mostly anything, the only thing it depends on is that what plants you or they get and animals. Because if you get frost more dependent animals and or plants, you need a more colder environment.

Animals that live in a artificial ecosystem, for example are fish in a aquarium, or a wolf that lives in a zoo, but there can be any animal you want to use as long as the temperature and animal isn't illegal.

Like for example, you can grow some potatoes and can bring some fruits like grapes and other stuff, to make something a animal would like, depending on the animals' diet.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Roaches are a species that eat trash or unwanted food and other stuff like dying bark and leaves. though they have multiple predators like rats. Rats eat roaches and other small insects. They also can eat unwanted food and stop overpopulation from rodents.                                                                        Resultado de imagen para Rat eating a roach       A normal house cat that lives with you, can eat up lots of the mice and rats, though they shouldn't because of a dangerous species that are identified as a parasite. There is a animal that lives in the wild, that eats cats, so they can get encountered by people. The species I'm talking about is a coyote. They are usually a above the middle of the food chain. Coyotes eat Cats, small dogs, and others. Coyotes keep control of the population of animals they differ in animals, big insects, amphibians.                                                                                                                                                                                                                       We need sight to do basically most to all things. That is why we need light. A artificial ecosystem is special because we can use light bulbs or lighting machines. Light is mostly hot. when you touch something that can enable to do something without it being day is a very big deal.                                     Water is the most important and essential thing that all ecosystems need and animals. All people and animals need water to do everything they need, especially a physical workout or activity. We and animals also need water for the nutrients that come with it that supply us our body fluids that dissolve our food we intake.                                                                                                                                     The temperature varies from where your living, though that you need to live in a temperature that is suitable for human and animal living or coexisting with each other. We need to live a good temperature that suits us, we usually live in a room temperature environment.  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------                                              ANIMAL         REPRODUCTION                                                              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXBo8J4tXTg                                                                                Coyotes usually have the alpha male do a mating call as shown, that attracts female coyotes. When the litters are born, the other female and male coyotes are to take care of them.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IrlBKv1sE0 The great Argus does something called a mating dance, in which the bird cleans the surroundings where he is going to do the dance. Then he gives a call to females, if they give the male any interest, he then dances in front of them. There is two ends to this. The female likes it  or doesn't.  -> Fun Fact- The hen only lays two eggs. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------                                                                 ASEXUAL REPRODUCTION                                                   One of the animals we are doing is the cape honey bee, they reproduce in a special way only seen from them known as haplo-diploid, the queen can make the egg fertilized or not by herself. I it becomes fertilized the egg can be a queen bee or a worker, if they don't get fertilized they become a drone bee.     Strawberries reproduce asexually, they can do that with with things we call runners, if left alone they become nodes and them make a clone out of the mother.     New Mexico whiptails are a species of lizard that are female only they reproduce a egg through parthenogenesis.Image result for strawberries reproductionImage result for cape honeybee------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------                                           FERTILIZATION INTERNAL
Image result for turtles reproducing
Image result for wolves matingTurtles reproduce Internally by the male having enlarged claws on his front flippers. This helps the male grasp the females shell during mating. Cooperation happens offshore.

For wolves only the lead male and female are the only ones to reproduce, they lock in position because of the tissues swell and lock the male penis, to prevent withdrawing.

Image result for fish mating

Fish reproduce by having the female lay here eggs on the floor, in which then the male releases his sperm.Though there is multiple ways like for example the female lays the eggs and once fertilized, they put the eggs in their mouth.

Image result for crab external fertilization stores spermCrabs reproduce by having the male and female, the female decapod crabs can store the male sperm. When the female is ready she then releases the eggs and the stored sperm flows over them. The female crab holds the fertilized eggs in a spongy mass between its abdominal flap

A pigeon has a unique adaptation in which they were able to grow feathers on their body, another thing that pigeon have is that their forelimb is modified into a wingspan to fly around places. They have their own way of hovering by having their wings readjusted to counteract gravitational force so it slows them when descending out of the air.

Image result for dogs For the other animal, domestic dogs have adapted abilities special to them. For example, they have   acute hearing, able to digest starchy foods so they an get strength from dog food. Also have a very strong eye-sight. All of these things make dogs more capable of living with humans.

Related image Corn has three adaptations which allow them to survive longer. One of them is that they have longer roots that let them stand from windy weather, another of the adaptations is that the husks of the corn let the kernels not get damaged. The last of the adaptations is that corn grows thick to let them stand tall let them not get lots of insects in it .

Normal and scientific name: The blue footed booby is its original name and the scientific name of it is Sula  nebounxii.

General characteristics:The characteristics that it has are that.  It has pointed brown wings. Its head and neck are covered with shaggy brown with and white feathers. Its chest and undersides are white.

Blue footed booby adaptations: The blue footed booby's  most distinctive feature is its large webbed bright blue  feet! When their prey is in sight, these seabirds utilize the physical adaptions that make them exceptional divers. They fold their long wings back around their streamlined bodies and plunge into the water from as high as 80 feet. Blue -footed boobies can also dive from a sitting position on the water's surface!

Era and name of the aniaml
Our paleozoic animal is the diplocaulsus salamandroides.

The location
Diplocaulsus fossils have been found in Texas, USA, North America.

General characteristics
Description. Diplocaulus had a stocky, salamander-like body, but was relatively large, reaching up to 3.3 ft in length.

Why did it go extinct
Diplocaulus  is an extinct genus of lepospondyl amphibians.

                                                           mesozoic animal

Era of animal and name.
Stegosaurus was a large, plant-eating dinosaur that lived during the
mesozoic era.

The location
They lived in subtropical parts in the USA, but there were also stegosaurus living in other parts of the world including Africa, China, Mongolia and Europe. Stegosaurus fossils have been found in the US states of Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.

General characteristics
These were large, heavily built, herbivorous quadrupeds with rounded backs, short fore limbs, long hind limbs, and tails held high in the air. Due to their distinctive combination of broad, upright plates and tail tipped with spikes.

Why did it go extinct
this dinosaur was made by gradual changes in the environment that led to the species extinction.

                                                 cenozoic animal

Era of animal and name
The dire wolf lived in the Americas. The dire wolf probably evolved from Armbruster's wolf (Canis armbrusteri) in North America.

The location
the dire wolf lived in the Americas mostly in south America.

General characteristics
about four feet from head to rump, with a two foot tail extending.had a broader skull, smaller brain, larger slicing teeth and a stronger bite force than the modern gray wolf.

Why did the it go extinct
because of climate change and human impact. One hypothesis is that the primary food source of the dire wolf large herbivores.

The Velociraptor is approximatalley 75 million years old. Which is the Cretaceous time period.

When was the Velociraptor unearthed?
Image result for velociraptor fossilThe Velociraptor was unearthed in 1998 where a Mongolian group discovered it.

When was the Velociraptor excavated?
The Velociraptor was excavated by Peter Kaisen,
Image result for velociraptor reaalwho excavated the Velociraptor fossil. In 1923  also in the Gobi desert.

Velociraptor's adaptations.
The Velociraptor's adaptations are based on the claws they have which are very sharp weapons.

This is what the Velociraptor looked like when it was alive.   ----->>>

What information does the fossil give about the Velociraptor?
The Velociraptor name was given by a paleontologist Henry Osborn because it can kill small animals and make quick movements to steal eggs.

When was the Giant Turtle unearthed?
Image result for carbonemys cofriniiThe Giant Turtle was unearthed in the 1970's around Venezuela and Colombia specifically in a desert region.

When was the Giant Turtle excavated?
The Giant Turtle was excavated in 1970 also in Venezuela, but
before they discovered the remains they didn't have
full knowledge of the species now they do.

What information does the fossil give about
the Giant Turtle?
The name  ''Coal Turtle'' is given because
it's apart of a turtle group that is side-necked
turtles that are called Pelomedusoides.                                                                                                          .
